May was a big one with our brand-new Assistants feature! Here's everything else we fixed and improved this month:
π§ Group by Manager uses the manager's pic in group headings
ποΈ Updated styling of group headings to make it easier to navigate when groups are collapsed
π¦ If you start from a specific person in the org chart, youβll now see a βStarting from {name}β button at the top. Click it to clear the starting point whenever needed.
π Various improvements to Register page
π Show support chat during sign up process
π¨ Various updates to the org chart toolbar:
π Browser compatibility updates
𧱠Numerous state management improvements in the org chart, giving you a better user experience
π Quite embarrassingly, when a country field was set to just "Korea," we were displaying the North Korean flag instead of the South Korean flag π€¦ββοΈ Now we learned that "Korea" usually refers to South Korea in most modern contexts; if someone means North Korea, they typically specify it explicitly. Apologies to our customers with staff and offices in Korea π
π Fixed a bug with the org chart not updating in real-time when updating the Manager field on a profile that was opened directly from the org chart itself
π Fixed a bug with the job title displaying null on the org chart cards if the job title field didn't exist in the data source
We recently rolled out the Assistant field on OneDirectory profiles, and now weβve taken it a step further: assistants are now visible right on the org chart! π₯
Now there's an easy way for everyone in your organization to see whoβs supporting who, whether youβre checking out a profile or exploring the org chart.
In keeping with OneDirectory's focus on seamless navigation, clicking an assistant in the org chart instantly opens their profile, right in place, so you never lose your spot while exploring your organizational structure.
Getting started is easy: head to Settings > Fields, turn on the Assistant field, add a few assistants to profiles, and enjoy the upgraded org chart!

You can now add assistants to any profile in OneDirectory!
This new feature makes it easy for everyone in the company to see who supports who, right on their profile.
To enable the Assistant field, follow these steps:
Once enabled, just switch to edit mode on any profile. Youβll see the new Assistant field in the Connections pane on the right, where you can easily add or remove assistants directly on the profile.
This month, we squeezed out a bunch of updates to sweeten your OneDirectory experience. Hereβs what's new:
π OneDirectory is already fast, but we gave it extra punch with a few behind-the-scenes performance optimizations!
βͺ Added a Collapse button to the contact column in list view: shows after clicking Expand on the contact items.
π¨βπΌ ICYMI: The Manager field is now displayed in the list view, and you can group by and sort by Manager
β¨ Dozens of small UI updates! Margins and alignment, contrast improvements, font styling, element sizing tweaks, colors and shading, heading styles, placeholder text updates, and more. (Let us know if you have any comments or requests.)
π Fixed a bug where the save dialog for offices and departments wouldnβt close after hitting save
π Fixed a bug with Hobbies & Interests tags in edit mode not showing the correct icon
π Fixed a bug where the State field wasn't displayed in the address on the profiles. Now it shows next to the city name, e.g. "Atlanta, GA" if you've enabled the State field (in Settings > Fields).
π Squashed a quirky bug that blocked admin or directory editor access if a userβs UserPrincipalName (UPN) didnβt match their email address, and they hadn't signed in before. It didnβt happen often, but it wonβt happen again.
Weβve just rolled out an enhancement to People Search, bringing the built-in Manager field directly into search results. You can now:
This small but powerful update makes it easier to explore team structures and understand who reports to whom, right from the search results, without needing to open profiles or the full org chart.
We released some bug fixes and minor updates to make your OneDirectory experience just a little bit better!

π Fixed issue where new organizational units are now disallowed from using the name "Team" to prevent conflicts with the existing "Team" (department) organizational unit.
π Fixed a sync progress issue in the Setup Assistant
π Fixed tap glitch bugs by removing underline from all links on touch devices
π Fixed a recently introduced issue with the sidebar flyouts not hiding themselves when you click an item in the flyout

It's now easier than ever to browse profile connections, thanks to a redesigned connections pane on every profile.
The connections pane lets you quickly view people connected to the current profile. In addition to managers and direct reports, you can click the expander button above the manager to see the individual's full reporting line.
Plus, you'll soon be able to view assistants and dotted line managers in the connections pane if you've configured those new fields.
We're thrilled to unveil our newly redesigned org chart, and we think you're going to love it!
As one of the most popular features in OneDirectory, the interactive org chart helps teams visualize their company structure and plays a crucial role in organizational transparency. Thatβs why weβve put a lot of effort into crafting a thoughtful redesign to deliver the best org chart experience in the world.
The new design is cleaner and more intuitive, and it lays the foundation for some exciting new features weβll be rolling out in the coming months.
Weβve also refined the org chart toolbar, making it sleeker and less intrusive on the main display areaβpreparation for some useful new toolbar options that are coming soon.

Weβve rolled out some exciting user interface upgrades and feature enhancements to make your OneDirectory experience even better. Here's what's new:
π Building on our previous search box redesign, the search box now features enhanced styling and is positioned within a static header bar that remains visible throughout your OneDirectory experience. More to come!
π© Updated the main header area across all pages, allowing more content to be visible in the search results
π― Restyled the entity groups in search results to make them stand out and be more easily distinguishable. Additionally, the "See more" links now expand only the current entity group instead of all groups at once.
π Page headings have been added to the Everyone, Offices, and Departments pages, as well as to organizational unit homepages
π΄ Enhanced text styles and colors on cards, tiles, and list view items for a consistent and improved app-wide experience
π» Improved the sizing of cards and tiles in search results to ensure better responsiveness across various screen resolutions
π Redesigned the office address on the Office pages to clearly highlight the region and country, along with the office address
π Profile: Automatically add hyperlinks on fields that looks like they should be clickable URLs
π€ Enhancements to the service accounts checker
π Highlighting "Skills" in the sidebar if we're on a skill page
π« Updated the sync so the hireDate field uses the new "employeeHireDate" field in the Microsoft Graph

π Fixed a recent bug with the A-to-Z keyboard disappearing in certain instances
We've made a few improvements to the org chart and the search UI:
π½ The "expander button" at the bottom of each org chart block has been enlarged for easier clicking, and the icon has been updated to up/down arrows instead of the previous +/- symbols.

π Improvements to the "Layout" button and flyout in the org chart toolbar.
